The Gathering Room
Gathering.
Gathering is a time of laughter, celebration, recalling memories that have brought joy over the years, and a time of creating that special time together our hearts often yearn for. But what if...there's no place to gather? Not everyone wants to tidy up their house to have girlfriends over, many don't have space, or maybe a good central location is needed to gather. That's why we created The Gathering Room in our 1875 historical bank building. The Gathering Room offers space for women to gather in a relaxing and quiet atmosphere, with warm and inviting decor (you might even get a few decorating ideas!)...we think it's the perfect place...to gather.
It has been wonderful hearing how people are loving The Gathering Room . Many have shared their stories with me...that means a lot. We've had the pleasure of hosting friends who find Walnut is a central meeting place between Des Moines and Omaha, one woman celebrating cancer free results, groups of girl friends and coworkers, Birthday celebrations, and small professional business groups.. We've loved every minute of seeing the joy and hearing the laughter of the women who gather in our space.
If you're looking for a place to gather...we've got the perfect space. We would love to host your small group, or large group! If you need brunch or lunch, we do offer our cafe specials. There's no charge to use The Gathering Room (and we added on the Upstairs Boarding Room Kitchen for additional space), we just ask that you purchase your beverage through our little coffee shop in our lobby, 201 Coffee. You'll love our lattes, coffee, teas, and gourmet hot cocoa.
Plan your gathering and make some memories! We've got a cozy space that will warm your heart. See below for reservation information.
*You can also enjoy our other unique gathering space...named in honor of The Notebook Cafe Publisher, Shelly Thompson's mother...Esther's Tea Room. Click here to read about this repurposed 1875 bank vault.
