Are you confident...in the waiting?
By Shelly Thompson
Oh, how I dislike waiting! It's hard to wait and remain confident. Often times...the longer I wait...the more my confidence fails and my anxiety increases. So let's take a look at those before us whose feet have paced as they waited...whose hearts must have thought...'When God when?'...whose prayers covered His throne with tears many times...
The Biblical Waiting Room would include Sarah (whose husband is described 'as good as dead' due to his old age...a lot of good he was going to be helping to get the promised baby!), Joseph who waited 13 years...Moses who waited 14 years. Then Naomi and Ruth enter the Biblical Waiting Room...coming in from a long journey, both widowed, poor, and homeless...they had no idea the plan that God was going to unfold...
BUT GOD! In His amazing, accurate, audacious, all-knowing time answered their Waiting Room prayers...every single one...in such powerful ways they are recorded in history. So you, beloved, could be confident...that He who began a good work....will complete it. On His time table...never on ours. The Biblical Waiting Room will show you over and over and over...God's time table is the one He uses.
Those in God's Waiting Room should prepare to see the GOODNESS of the Lord...in His time. Psalm 37:7 instructs us to 'Rest in the Lord, and wait patiently for Him: Fret not...'
If you're in God's Waiting Room...you're in good company and more importantly...the presence of God. Keep lifting your requests to Him knowing your Father in heaven is bending down to hear your every word...even the unspoken ones in your heart. He's listening...be patient...keep waiting. His goodness is worth every.single.second of the wait. Amen
Waiting on Him,

The Notebook Cafe -- Inspired Words for the Journey is an online cafe brewing up words of inspiration and encouragement to equip us for this journey. The Cafe (and The Vault Mercantile) is located in the quaint historic town of Walnut, Iowa. 'The Cafe' offers a place where women gather to share a time of fellowship, devotion, and a tour the circa 1875 historical bank building restored by Shelly and her husband. Shelly is the Publisher of The Notebook Cafe and coauthor of two books, Entwined, now in it's fourth printing; and Heart of a Warrior; in it's third printing. Shelly has a passion for writing what God places in her heart. Taking a giant leap of faith she left the corporate world to pursue a dream God gave her of developing a monthly inspirational faith based online reading café in February 2015. Today, The Notebook Café reaches over 500,000 people each month. She has found the road in unknown territory is not always easy, BUT GOD always finds a way to bring about what He has promised. Shelly has also developed The Notebook Cafe Annual Woman's Conference. The Notebook Cafe has hosted five women's conferences since October 2015. Shelly and her husband, Dave, spend time with their family and many weekends working on home renovation projects…that thankfully never seem to end.
