His Word for Your Heart

The season of Spring
By Shelly Thomspon

Spring is a time of regeneration and renewal. Many of us have had a long season of winter in both climate and life. But in spring, the days grow longer, the spring rains bring flowers and green grass, the sky is a bluer hue, the air smells fresh, and there's a promise...of renewal...and new life all around. That's what Christ's life, death, and resurrection did for us...renewing our lives for eternity through the debt He paid for our sins. Regeneration of God's children.

If we refresh our souls in the spring...we can again face the challenges of life, and walk through the hard seasons in victory. Which means...we still know that God is good, and His promises are kept. He watches from heaven and sings over us as we sleep. He weeps when we weep. God's heart breaks for us during the winter season of our lives, but He also knew...that we would have those cold and dark seasons, and even though we sometimes don't feel it...He is always...always, with us.

So, if you've had a long hard winter...here's some scriptures that will remind you that there is always spring on the horizon. A day that God's peace will fill your heart and you will be able to stand against the cold winds of any season and not break, because you have a joy in knowing that with God...there will always be a season of spring in His perfect and appointed timing.

Blessings, Shelly
  • For behold, the winter is past; the rain is over and gone. The flowers appear on the earth, the time of singing has come, and the voice of the turtledove is heard in our land. Solomon 2:11,12
  • Be patient, then, brothers and sisters, until the Lord's coming. See how the farmer waits for the land to yield its valuable crop, patiently waiting for the autumn and spring rains. James 5:7
  • And God said, “Let there be lights in the expanse of the heavens to separate the day from the night. And let them be for signs and for seasons, and for days and years." Genesis 1:14
  • Ask the LORD for rain in the springtime; it is the LORD who sends the thunderstorms. He gives showers of rain to all people, and plants of the field to everyone. Zechariah 10:1
  • The wilderness and the dry land shall be glad; the desert shall rejoice and blossom like the crocus; it shall blossom abundantly and rejoice with joy and singing. Isiah 35:1
  • Let us acknowledge the LORD; let us press on to acknowledge Him. As surely as the sun rises, He will appear; He will come to us like the winter rains, like the spring rains that water the earth. Hosea 6:3
  •  “Now faith is confidence in what we hope for and assurance about what we do not see.  This is what the ancients were commended for.  By faith we understand that the universe was formed at God’s command, so that what is seen was not made out of what was visible.” Hebrews 11:3
  • but those who hope in the LORD will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint. Isaiah 40:31
  • Are not two sparrows sold for a penny? Yet not one of them will fall to the ground outside your Father’s care. Matthew 10:29
