Here's what we've been up to in Walnut!
Our Vintage Wedding Tea event in The Gathering Room was AWESOME! Guests enjoyed vintage wedding decorations, tours of the upstairs boarding rooms complete with mannequins in bridal outfits (even some with flower girl dresses!), wedding cupcakes and tea, and some vintage shower games and prizes. IT WAS SO FUN!!!! Below is a few pictures from our event. We also discovered that combined, we had over 500 years of marriage in that one room. It was a wonderful day.

Vintage wedding clothes were displayed in all the boarding rooms with stories of the brides during a walking tour.

Guests brought wedding photos that they cherished and we placed all the photos together for a group wedding photo.
We released our newest candle in The 5th Street Candle Collection, Wedding Day. My parents Wedding picture is on the front. We also hosted a drawing for the very first Wedding Day candle to be won by one of our guests!

Wedding details were placed throughout the boarding rooms of vintage wedding scapes.
This is the tag that hangs from each Wedding Day candle sharing the story of true love. The other side has the recipe for the Wedding Cake Cupcakes...they are delicious!

The table in The Gathering Room was decorated for a Vintage Wedding Tea with lace, vintage wedding photos and figurines.

What's new in the Walnut shop? Sneak peek!
We are in full summer mode in our Walnut shop with lots of greenery, unique displays for gardening items and summer ideas for home decor, lots of chippy and shabby farmhouse style goodness for your home. Our candles have been a top seller and we've added lots of melts. These make great gifts. Our fireplace mantel is staged with lots of candle holders featuring some made from an 1875 stairway post. We love the small details to our groupings, like our word cards and die cut vintage people, and small floral bundles. These touches make all the difference.

Our summer hours at the shop in Walnut are Friday and Saturday 10 - 4, most weekends. You can always check our app weekly for hours, specials, updates, and more. The Gathering Room
|
It has been wonderful hearing how women are loving The Gathering Room . Many have shared their stories with me...that means a lot. We've had the pleasure of hosting small professional women's groups, friends who find Walnut is a central meeting place between Des Moines and Omaha, one woman celebrating cancer free results, groups of high school friends and coworkers, Birthday celebrations, and we've loved every minute of seeing the joy and hearing the laughter of the women who gather in our space.
If you're looking for a place to gather...we've got the perfect space. We would love to host your small group, or large group! There's no charge to use The Gathering Room (and we added on the Upstairs Boarding Room Kitchen for additional space), we just ask that you purchase your beverage through our little coffee shop in our lobby, 201 Coffee. Large and small groups love our unique 1875 historic bank gathering spaces. Our cafe lunches are always a hit!
Bonnie brought her girlfriends out to the cafe! They had a wonderful lunch, brief devotion, tour, and shared lots of conversation!

These sweet sisters held a Birthday Party in The Gathering Room. They arrived early and set up the room for their guests.

The sisters had the long harvest table in The Gathering Room set up beautifully for their guests. They even served cookies they had brought back from Israel.

We hosted the Walnut Historical Society meeting June dinner in The Gathering Room. We served pulled pork sandwiches, coleslaw, and pie!
