The Notebook Café

It's always a good day...at 'The Cafe'

The Notebook Café has an amazing and unique place for your women's group, Bible Study, or circle to hold a gathering at 'The Cafe' in the quaint town of Walnut, Iowa. The Notebook Café invites you to consider reserving our beautifully restored circa 1875 bank building. We'll prepare our signature Café brunch, provide a tour of the historic restored bank building, and present a special devotional time.

The current devotion is HGTV - A Heart for God leads To Victory. We delve into the great story of restoration in each of our hearts. Not done in a hour like on TV, but over a lifetime. It's easy to visually see the transformation of homes and spaces, but it's nearly impossible to see transformation of the heart. Following plans that we create is relatively easy, but it's much different following the blueprint from God. The Master Designer has the perfect plan for our lives. He is orchestrating everything by His own design. He is in all the details. Not only is God creating the perfect design, He's also in the restoration business - when we have gone off course and followed our own plans. He brings together all the details...every...single...one to create His story in our lives. Placing His imprint on our heart so one day, our hearts whisper BUT GOD as He reveals His perfectly...outrageous...plan.

This study lends itself well to the historical old building restoration and tour. You can read the story Restoration by clicking here. For more information on 'The Cafe' click here.

After the brunch you can leisurely stroll along the late 1800's brick lined streets of Walnut and enjoy over twelve awesome shops featuring vintage, shabby, recycled, upscaled, and repurposed finds...and we think the best bakery in the Midwest! Great for a 'Girl's Day Out with God!' where you'll be refreshed in the Word.and enjoy a relaxed time of fellowship with friends in an amazing setting.

Perception

Don't let the enemy's DECEPTION become your PERCEPTION. Our human vision does not allow us to see all that God is planning, preparing, and orchestrating. Only God knows His Master plan. Like a Divine Architect He holds the blueprint containing plans from beginning to end. Unlike human architect's, who often run into something unexpected that causes them to change their plans...nothing is unexpected to God. His plans do not change.

But we have an enemy...who roams the earth...wanting us to doubt the promises of God...in the unseen...

Let's look at some others who didn't see what only God could see...

Abraham was 'as good as dead' when he received God's promise...

Marching in obedience brought the walls of Jericho down...

Daniel walked out of the lions den...without a scratch...

Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego came out of fire...without a hair on their head damaged...

Noah's obedience building an ark saved his family from a flood...he'd never even seen rain fall from the sky in his day...

David's smooth stone took down a giant...after he removed the heavy battle clothing recommended and wore the protection of God...

Gideon only had an Amy of 300...he won the battle...

Lazarus was dead...until Jesus brought him back to life...

Ruth was a childless widow...until God's plan was fulfilled...

Naomi longed for a grandchild, but her husband and two sons were dead...she was unaware that God would see her arms and heart were full with a grandchild...

Mary heard an unbelievable and unexplainable message from the Angel Gabriel...she birthed a tiny savior...

God multiplied five barley loaves and two small fishes to feed 5,000...

The widows oil was more than enough...

The Bible shows us God's plans, while unseen to the human eye...are being orchestrated...

Don't be fooled by what you can't see...God's plans never fail.

Don't let the enemy's deception...become your perception...God is active and working in your situation...

At the perfect time, you will see the work of the Divine Architect completed...better than you can imagine and you will whisper a prayer of thanks...

BUT GOD...
