Don't miss...Christmas in the Hinckley Land Office
Mark your calendars…don’t miss Christmas in the Hinckley Land Office.
…imagine…soft nostalgic Christmas music playing…candles burning with the fragrance of Christmas filling the air…twinkle lights…Christmas decorations…all in a historical bank building…centered around an office that once belonged to one of the founders of the city, Mr. E. R. Hinckley.
That’s what we’re doing with our Christmas Market this year. We’re decorating our shop with vintage and new home decor…centered around Mr. Hinckley’s former Land Office with 16’ ceilings, chandeliers, a faux fireplace, and vintage 16’ library shelves filled with Christmas decor along with our entire shop.
You’ll also find some vintage Walnut photos telling the story of this sweet Midwest town and one of the founders, E.R. Hinckley in his office. We’re bringing the nostalgic feel to our Christmas Market this year….and his office will be decorated to the hilt.
When Mr. Hinckley’s Land Office burned down (see photo of his old wood office building) he moved into the Walnut Exchange Bank building (our building), one of the first fireproof brick buildings built in the Midwest. Yes, the Walnut Brickyard specially made the bricks at Mr. Hinckley’s request. In 2024…we honor Mr. Hinckley and we’ll be decorating his office with the perfect Christmas decor filled with both vintage with select new home decor.
